Part of the purpose of our chapter is to conduct reseach projects we find interesting and help other members with their own projects when we have knowledge on a particular subject. Below are the projects currently underway by Hall-Ruggles members. For a look at research underway by the national committees please visit the SABR Research Page.

Matt Etling (mgetling@dfwsabr.org) is working to collect detailed information on the Cleburne Texas League franchise during the 1900-1918 period. As of October, Matt has compiled rosters and game logs for roughly 30% of the teams during this time period.

Tyson Chattagnier (tchatt@dfwsabr.org) completed his book on centerfielders titled Middlemen: Covering Everything from Left to Right. Contact Tyson for information on how to obtain a copy.

Steve Conley (sconley@dfwsabr.org) is researching his great-grandfather Snipe Conley's career. Conley was a star for the Dallas Submarines in the late 1910's.

Tanvir Raqib (traqib@dfwsabr.org) is working on the history of baseball in his native Bangladesh. In addition to criquet, British colonials brought the game of baseball during the late 19th century.

Wally Carver (wcarver@dfwsabr.org) submitted his paper on the economics of baseball salary arbitration for peer review for possible publication.
